Assessments
With the recent approval by HVFC members of the merger with other area soccer clubs, the merged group is announcing the schedule of assessment sessions for play beginning in the fall of 2012.

Please note that you may attend any of the sessions for your child’s age group, regardless of the location. You will indicate in the paperwork the desired location for Academy play, which will help decide where to site the academies. There WILL be academies at Eastman Park in Kingsport. Furthermore, play at ages 13 and up will be dispersed around the Tri-Cities.

To learn more about the Academy and Competitive offerings, please check the Membership Merger Information 2012 link.

If you are unable to attend one of the sessions for your child’s age group, please contact the Director of Coaching for that age group.

NOTE: The age groups indicated are for the FALL season and are based on an Aug-July year. Click the Age Chart link in the left margin.

Club Merger Information

The members of Holston Valley Futbol Club have voted to approve merging with Fusion FC, ETSF, and Vitesse, to form one regional soccer club. The merged entity, which will determine a new name soon, will continue to run the Recreational Soccer Program at Eastman Park, as well as administer club programs throughout the region. This is a momentous occasion, as unifying the soccer scene across our region will significantly enhance the opportunities to play for all players. I would like to personally thank the many volunteers who have worked long and hard to bring this vision to reality, and to thank our members for taking the time to ask questions and learn more about the advantages of merging. Those questions have improved the merged entity.

Effectively immediately, the following persons constitute the merged club’s board of directors.

Warren Austin – President
Jon Harr - Vice President
Blair Cahoon - Treasurer
Glenda Eilo - Secretary
Sam Pulitzer - Risk Management Coordinator
Matt Lavinder
Chad Kelley
Greg Hopkins

For those players interested in a deeper training and play experience than offered in the Recreational Program (what we have classically termed “competitive soccer”), a full listing of the many programs the club will offer is described in the Membership Merger Information 2012 link at www.hvfcsoccer.com

Assessments for the club academy and competitive programs will begin next week.

Additionally, the merged club is advertising for 2 paid administrative positions. Job descriptions are attached below.

TOPSoccer
In 2002, HVFC assisted in the founding of Holston Valley TOPSoccer, a separate soccer program for youth in this area with special needs. TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a national program for special needs children started by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) with support from several national sponsors.

We would like to share a personal story about Jared who is one of our TOPSoccer players.  The story was written by Jared's mother.    Story and Pictures
